New Zealand schools ban Crocs, Jibbitz due to scraps in the playground
Schools in West Auckland and South island have unfortunately banned crocs due to the issues Jibbitz have been causing. Letters have been sent to parents letting them know Jibbitz have been causing too many issues that have led up to scraps during lunchtime. Jibbitz are little charms that are attached to crocs used as decoration. Students have been trading Jibbitz during lunchtime and students have been losing Jibbitz because of school thiefs. Crocs have also been causing injuries which aren’t safe to wear at school, about 15 foot injuries and eight ankle injuries have been recorded. They are hazards to kids and often do not fit well and are clumsy.
